چکیده
The incidence of obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D) has been increasing steadily worldwide. It is estimated that by 2045 more than 800 million people will be suffering from diabetes. Despite the advancements in modern medicine, effective therapies for treating T2D are needed. G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) have emerged as important drug targets various chronic diseases, including obesity, T2D, liver diseases. During past two decades, many laboratories worldwide focused on understanding role GPCR signaling regulating glucose metabolism energy homeostasis. information gained these studies can guide development novel therapeutic agents. In this review, we summarize recent providing insights into peripheral, metabolically tissues such pancreas, liver, skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, focusing primarily use mutant animal models human data.

Common Variations in Perilipin rs1052700 and FTO rs3751812 Genes, Central Obesity, and Risk Type-2 Diabetes
Background: Perilipins are proteins at the external level of the lipid glob in adipocytes steroid-generating cells and play a central role in lipid storage and breakdown. FTO gene is associated with Type-2 diabetes (T2D) and increased fat mass. Association of Perilipin and FTO genes polymorphism with T2D was investigated. Methods: Clinical traits in a random sample of 183 Iranian men and wom...
متن کاملSerum Adiponectin and Vaspin levels in Abdominal Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract Objective: Adiponectin and vaspin are adipocyte-derived proteins and involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism and obesity related disorders. The mechanisms that adipokines might be linked to disturbance of glucose are unclear. Thus, this study investigated the levels of serum adiponectin and vaspin, blood lipid profiles, and abdominal obesity in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) patients...
متن کاملA double blind randomized clinical trial to investigate the effect of vitamin D supplementation on metabolic and hepato-renal markers in type 2 diabetes and obesity
Background: According to the recent studies, vitamin D deficiency has been correlated with progress in type 2 Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of vitamin D supplementation on glucose and lipid profiles, blood pressure, and biomarkers of liver and kidney in type 2 diabetic patients. Methods: In this Double blinded randomized clinical t...

Defective Natriuretic Peptide Receptor Signaling in Skeletal Muscle Links Obesity to Type 2 Diabetes.
Circulating natriuretic peptide (NP) levels are reduced in obesity and predict the risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Since skeletal muscle was recently shown as a key target tissue of NP, we aimed to investigate muscle NP receptor (NPR) expression in the context of obesity and T2D. Muscle NPRA correlated positively with whole-body insulin sensitivity in humans and was strikingly downregulated in o...
